id say to start with try the Witham team ryu club and maybe the inworth place.
You will learn the basics in a friendly atmosphere, plus its abit closer to you.

how did it go mate? you found a gym and started training yet?
if you havent you really should, you wont regret it.
i used to box back in the uk, although ive always loved mma.
stopped training altogether when i came out here. once i got back on my feet i decided to start training again and chose mma instead of boxing.
been doing it about 8 months now and love it, now training 4 times a week myself, my mrs has just started at the womens class at my gym and i also go there twice a week with her and help out. its consumed my life, mma really is addictive:D
find yourself a gym with good lads at it though, nothing worse than training with wankers.

I am a new beginner from scratch just like yourself big G, I just started recently and when i first went in i saw there's big blokes and they looked strong and experienced just by looking at them, however, they were all friendly, welcoming, put a crack on you, one or two didn't speak much though, I was knackered and i was running out of breath in the first 20mins of the session, its very hard work, but the tricks are quite fun as well as the grappling, they should take it easy with you and understand your a first timer.
