More talk from "The Outlaw". Great to see the local press backing Dan Hardy and other local fighters

Hardy: I'm so proud to represent my country

AS well as fighting to improve my own record and standing within the UFC welterweight division, I also represent my country when I step inside the Octagon. I'm a very patriotic kind of person and I truly care about how British fighters are viewed by the mixed martial arts world. I like seeing our guys do themselves justice on the world stage and I'm extremely proud to see an influx of top British fighters entering the UFC in the past 12 months.

With that in mind, my next fight against Marcus Davis becomes even more important to me. As most people know by now, Marcus goes by the nickname 'The Irish Hand Grenade' and claims to be half-Irish.

He also has a habit of fighting on UK cards and cherry-picking British newcomers. Rather than step up in competition in his home country (America), Marcus enjoys coming over here, beating inexperienced Brits and then claiming that the UK fans are all on his side.

Davis has beaten four British-based fighters over here, all in the first two rounds, but also all of whom were having only their first or second UFC fights.

Well, on June 13 in Cologne, Marcus will be facing his toughest Brit yet and will see just how many UK fans are behind him on the night.
