did the pressure of knowing he was goin to propose after the match upset his mental balance for the fight the first time?

Don't see what Danny has to gain by rematching a guy he beat convincingly in their first fight

poorly handled asking publicly about a rematch in that manner russel.

is there a connection between russel and the scottish tigers?

I appologise if any offence was caused as none was meant. I had spoke with James thompson and he requested that i ask if Danny Gray would like a rematch. I only thought that as Mr Doolan has replied to my previous thread that this would be the best medium.

There is no calling out only a simple request of which there can only be a yes or no answer to which, no matter what the answer the utmost respect and courtesy will be shown.

I would also like to state that during my conversation with James Thompson he only talked with total respect about Danny Gray, there was no excuses as he was beaten "FAIR AND SQUARE, the better athlete won on the night etc". However he would be honered with another fight against Danny as his own feelings are that he, himself could have done better in that particular fight.

As i have learned from this if you wish to reply via pm or phone please call me on : 07840535434 to discuss.

Again, i appologise for offence or awkwardness - it's my fault at being a newbie at this side of the game. Another leason has been learned

Regards
Russell

As for the question regarding the connection between myself and the scottish tigers club, i have taken a couple of class's for them covering grappling.

I am in the process of finding premises for my own club.

Thanks

i was at the show the first fight took place, looked like a mis-match to me, looked like Thompson wanted to stand up until he got kicked in the face, then he didnt seem to have a clue on the ground, unless James has improved big time since id imagine it would go the same way again.

Fights on youtube

Is this how you guys promote fight shows ? might have a go at putting a show on myself if it is. Im off to book a venue now, show will be called Smack down,

any fighters intrested in taking part pm me.

im surprised James Thomson is looking for a rematch. having spoken to him before and after the fight he was intent on retiring and said he only wanted a couple of fights so he could say he had been in there when he was teaching his club. James is a good kickboxer but he was thourghly beaten in that fight,

I think James should maybe look to take on a less dangerous opponent because i think his record is 0-2 and imo from what i have seen i dont see it being 1-2 vs Danny Gray.

I thought Mickey Dodds broke his hand in his last fight, its only been a couple of months not sure how its healed.

Yeah atmosphere was good, was good it was in a cage and the last three fights where worth the ticket fee alone. How many people where there?

With the Thompson Danny Gray thing.

I think there is little chance James and the guys would give Danny that fight again, sometimes you have to earn a rematch, and from what I have heard, Danny Gray is one of the top rated guys from James Gym.

Hasn't he already fought Pro James and got injured or something??? Not to sure man, but I'm certain he has had a few fights previous and some good wins.

If this was a kind of comeback fight for Gray, would have been good to ease him back into the swing of things, atmos, back in the ring/cage and good management by James Doolan by the looks of things.

And tommylaughlin, in regards to running your own show, you would need to have a handful of trusted contacts mate, which from experience in Thai, takes a year or two to gain.

Id stick to maybe training 1st, and get to know the game, think there are a few accomplished show's now by the look of things, that are hosted by the teams and coaches from the teams themeselves. I think they would rather be helping each other out in this game before throwing fighters at maybe yourself just to make a quick sheckle....

I spoke to james thompson and he explained to me he did mention to russell he would like to re-match danny due to him not performing well in the first fight, i understand that. James was really respectful the entire time.

Danny has said he will take the fight again, im cool with it, so it will happen later this year.It wont happen on the wishaw show as we have commitments with enough shows in august and wont spread ourselves too thin sticking a fighter on another show (even if it is 15 minutes up the road). Im happy for the fight to take place on cagekombat, one of the cummnock shows, viper fight night or a sportfight scotland later or even on absolute combat 2.

Danny had fought b-class pro once, and semi pro 4 times, James Thompson has competed in thai boxing before and had 1 semi pro fight so on paper the match up was fair enough.

tommylaughlin and any other would be promoters out there, as willie said putting on a show is not easy, a couple things will make it easier for you though. Get some standing in the sport, no one will work with you if you turn up out the blue and try and sell yourslef as a promoter when clearly your trying to jump on the mma bandwagon and make a quick buck, This is also how you will get contacts and network. Try and work with the other promoters, going directly against the established shows wont win you any friends and the mma scene in scotland isnt big enough for us not to work together. Dont rush stuff, the big gyms and shows in scotland you see today are the product of several years of hard work, a bunch of guys have came along tried to start a club or put on a show for nothing more than money or some kind of ego feed fucked it up and dissapeared leaving behind nothing but funny stories of failures.

Hi,

www.mmamatch.co.uk is a brand new Fighter Search Database.

It is a non profit website/database, so is FREE to all MMA clubs to register and search for fighters, simply register your club, then put in your club and fighter details.

This is a brand new site, so is totally reliant on the amount of clubs and fighters that are put in, the more clubs that register the wider the choice.

It is quite an advance search engine, you can search by region, age, name, weight, amateur, semi-pro or pro, male or female, you can even put a profile picture to each fighter if you like.

Also you can list your next event/show at the bottom of your club page, which will then automatically advertise itself on the mmamatch homepage
so clubs that come to the site can see what shows are coming up.

This site has been put together to get all the fighters in one place, saving all clubs/matchmakers a fortune and time on phone calls calling clubs that you are not sure whether they even have a fighter you are after. This way you are at least contacting the right club first time.

And it's FREE to all clubs.

Thank you for your time.

Dean
