Right, a thread we can keep updating, what do you think is the best album of 2009 to be released so far? update as new albums are released throughout the year.
just downloaded the new eminem and greenday albums. not listened to eminems yet but my mates are raving about it, i dont like his new single much so im not holding my breathe for his album.
listening to greendays now, its fucking quality but only up to track 7 of 18 so will wait to judge of its the best.
currently the best for me is The Enemy - Music for the people.
reem album although not a touch on their debut album which imo is the greatest debut album ever.
still some banging anthems, elephant song and be someone are quality.

With the exception of Cannibal Corpse, I think that Godders is ultimately correct.

I listened to the first single (Oh Yeah!) and "Soap on a Rope" and they just sounded like very generic foot stomping rock and roll songs. There was nothing there that really stood out. A shame considering who the members of the group are. Is the album worth a listen (maybe it is a grower?) or are these songs indicative of their style?

Kasabian's new one is class, do like The Enemy, Prodigy also.
On the metal front, i dug out Medulla Nocte the other day. Good times.

On the metal (and all its many sub genres) front...
Really been enjoying Alestorms "Black Sails at Midnight" and Amorphis' "Skyforger"
Alien Vampires "Fuck off and Die" is good.
If you like Symphonic Power Metal (most don't for some reason) Fairyland's "Score to a New Beginning" is very good.
Theres been quite a few I can think of. Nothing truly masterful though.
