Should elaborate ring entrances be part of MMA?

Ok, so during a very manly talk with a few of my mates on a Bear Grylls esk camping trip the other day (where I fought a bear), I was shocked to discover that the majority of my friends felt there was no place in MMA for elaborate, over the top ring entances.

Personally I love the over the top entrances that are particularly prevalant in Japan. For me Genki-Sudo was the master at this and I think his entrances are legendary.

So the question I pose to my fellow CW posters: Do you think theatrical fighter entrances belong in MMA and if so, whose is your favourite or should they be kept out of the sport altogether and reserved for the WWE? :confused:

Entrances ftw, Mayhem was hilarious when he did some of his. WWE have some awesome entrances, would love to see more crazy wwe style ones... alltho obviously the lack of gimmics would limit you.

^^^ One of my favourite entrances ever. I still get goosebumps when I watch it. Really hope they let him do it at UFC100...wouldnt be surprised if Dana made him come out to some nu metal tho! :D

they used to do wwe entrances with a ramp, fireworks, everything, it was horrible. i still like the jap ones though

I don't care much for elaborate entrances myself. However, they don't bother me much either.

The masses don't just want to watch the fights, they want to be entertained, and elaborate entrances are a huge part of that entertainment package.

It puts arses on seats and gets people interested in the sport, which is what we all want I suppose.

mayhem has some crazy entrances...
im not against them, but there should be some sort of time limit, its not really fair on the other guy stood waiting to fight while it takes you forever to get to the cage.

i think it was one of naseem hamed's opponants that threatened to walk out of the ring and then come back if it took to long for naz get there.
