alansonny I'll try and call you before weekend but mad busy organising show plus as it's summer holidays so my days are filled with teaching kids groups for next 3 weeks! What weight are you and where do you fight under?

I seen both fight, and Ryan no way near ready to fight the likes of Shay.

Ryan is 0-2-0 semi pro but also 2-1-0 amateur. Shay has had a total of 7 fights, Ryan has had 5. OK I admit it isn't a perfect match going off their S/P record but these things aren't always!!!

Ryan is very big and lean for a 16yr old and has already faught a 21yr old in his last fight. He is also taller than Shay so has better reach. Shay's strength is ground (I know, he's very good) hence him training with Sandy Holt the past yr to improve his standup game and Ryan's strength is his striking so it doesn't seem that much of a mismatch to me, however you are entitled to your opinion as are we all. In every fight there will be an underdog but as you know in MMA anything can happen!

At the end of the day there aren't that many 16 yr old fighters at u70 who are at semi pro to match him with and this was the closest match we could get (believe me I tried hard to get a better age match). Ryan wants to fight, is aware of Shay's background and happily took the fight knowing his background. Hope this answers your concerns.

Yes, promotor/sponsor provides gloves to fight in. This is same with most big shows and means both fighters are wearing the same approved gloves so no arguments from either camp on the day.

We have secured exclusive rights to all martial arts events at the Reebok so will be doing this next year but plan to keep Fight Ikon running as a feeder for our championships.

More news today is we will also have on site instant photo printing available to view and purchase at the end of each bout for just £5! from professional fight photographers p4p.
