Following on from the highly successful BJJ British Open back in June is now the No Gi British Open, billed as the biggest competition of it’s kind in Europe!
Venue & Location
The University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall Campus sports centre
The sports centre is recognised as one of few Judo Centres of Excellence in the UK by the British Judo Association – it helps develop judo talent for players of national and international standard.The Centre has already hosted the British Judo Championships and will be used a venue to train Olympic hopefuls for the 2012 London games.
The Gorway Road venue is already one of the few judo centres of excellence and plays host to international sporting competitions.

Competitor Fees
20th September or before £30.00
Between 21st Sept and 1st Oct £35.00
Between 2nd Oct and 23rd October £40.00
Categories
White / 1 year & 2 months
Blue / up to 3 years
Purple /up to 4 1/2 years
Brown / up to 6 years
Black / 6 years or more

pretty big differences to go 11kgs down.

Apologies to everyone.
I checked this with Braulio tonight and the weights listed on the site(ADCC) are incorrect, we are definatly going to be using IBJJF, the website will be corrected shortly.

Contact the organisers and let them know the cost is putting you off entering. I would imagine they will consider it depending on what sort of entry numbers they are getting.

To help promote the event, the entry fee will stay at £30.00.
Medal winners will get prizes sponsored by Manto and a high quality medal, made by the Brazilian manufacturer's who supply the Mundials and Panams.

i have a question about the weigh ins.
since the categories were changed from before, it now says you have to weigh in right before your first match? is this right?
if so would it be possible to change my weight division?

Just a quick reminder that the final closing date for the BRITISH
No-Gi open is this Friday 23rd at midnight. So, if you plan on
competing and have not yet registered, don't delay, act today!
Entrants to the tournament will also get an exclusive teaching video
in association with Cage Film, featuring double ADCC champion 2009,
Braulio Estima, who will be at the tournament throughout.
Cost of registering has been kept at £30.00!

I'm not involved with the comp but that would be in-line with IBJJF rules and the way the gi British Open was run.

I think a lot have, but i don't about white belts from the north getting there for 8:30 weighing in then fighting at 9:00 is a bit irritating, especially after a near 3 hour car drive.
