they use it on a movie website i use (to watch movies online). it works well, but as said it won't work when we have dopey cunts on here who post the event winner in a thread title.
i don't think we really need a 'spoiler' code in threads (unless of course the TUF threads it would have been handy) as most people know not to read certain threads regarding events they don't wanna know the result.
