It's absolutely none of my business but I hate the Carlsons logo. It seems to glamorise dog fighting, which to any right minded human being is a repugnant pastime practiced by inadequate cunts with no character.
Carlsons are a top notch club, run by top notch people, and I'm sure they haven't consciously set out to do this, but unfortunately in the minds of the kind of pondlife who enjoy watching dogs fight, it does seem to glamorise this foul 'sport'.

This is an ignorant perspective on dog fighting. Read 'A fighter's heart' it will give you some idea of the kind of people who breed fighting dogs.
The author also draws some revealing parallels between dog fighting and mma, which may be instructive.

I know a great deal about the kind of subhuman crettins who breed dogs to fight.
My work regularly brings me into contact with these vile people.
Can you put it into a nutshell why this book might change my mind?

The Bulldogs in the Carlson Gracie Logo are not fighting dogs.Bulldogs do not take part in dog fights, only bullterriers do and the Carlson Logo shows bulldogs NOT bullterriers.
The Carlson Logo has been around since the 1960's and i feel honour everytime i wear it.
Iconoclast if you come into contact with dog fighting scum you will know that
they never use bulldogs.

Indeed I have never come across people who fight bulldogs, and I know that it's not the intention of Carlsons to glamourise dog fighting.
I'm sure it's to signify the noble and loyal nature of these fine animals.
What concerns me is that when some impressionable people see that the logo of one of the most successful BJJ teams in Europe has two mean looking dogs squaring off together with blood coming from their mouths, they might get the idea that dog fighting isn't such a big deal.
I know that if someone's inclined to enjoy the torture and abuse of animals under the guise of 'sport', a logo won't make any difference to them. I just have an issue with anything that might give such a vile practice any credibilty whatsoever.
I'm probably being a little irrational. I've just seen some terrible things.

In the book Sam Sheridan draws a distinction between pitbull owning thugs and genuine fighting dog breeders. The latter take an obsessive interest in their dogs and they are fed and exercised like pro athletes. They are more like pushy parents than cruel scum.
However, I was probably being a little too cantankerous - as I too do not approve of dog fighting. Nor the wanton killing of anything.
(p.s. except for Japan all fighting dogs are pitbulls)
And I quite like the logo

Regardless of how well they may feed and exercise their dogs, if their endgame is to make them fight, they are pondlife to me. It's still abuse.
Nothing can excuse it.
Unlike us, they have no voice. We are all powerful over them, and with such power comes responsibility. To lack mercy and compassion is a sign of weakness and indicates a real lack of character.
Aesthetically I like the logo too. I just don't like the fact that a great many people could misconstrue what is supposed to signify.

I hear you and mostly agree. TBH i can't imagine many people think as much as this about the logo so i can't see it being a problem.
