View Full Version : Rob Sinclair v Paul Sass for OMMAC LW British Title confirmed

CHRIS ZORBA
11-08-2009, 01:18 PM
I am pleased to announce that Rob Sinclair will defend his OMMAC British Lightweight title against Paul "silent assassin" Sass on OMMAC 2 - Saturday 3rd October at the prestigous Liverpool Olympia.

Rob Sinclair (7-1-0) finally meets the undefeated Paul Sass after 2 previous encounters did not materialise due to injuries and unavailability.

Sass headlined the first OMMAC show last weekend with an impressive first round submission of Ian Jones taking him to 8-0-0 but ending his incredible run of "triangles".

Sinclair, who also trains part time in Liverpool's Kaobon gym, adds spice to the fight by clashing with rival Next Generation fighter Sass.

I cant wait.

Thanks to Ian Dean for his swift negotiations to set the fight up.

More of the fightcard to be announced very soon.

Tickets go on sale Monday 17th August on www.ommac.tv

Sass to start a new run of 7 Heelhook wins! :D

Not a chance! If it goes to the floor - Sass will get submitted - maybe even triangled! If it stays stood up he will feel the power and get the punishment. I'll take nothing away from Sass, I like him, but I've seen the future and it involves Rob staying the champ!

And before anyone starts I'm not blowing smoke up anyone's arse!
Great match up and this is the one we have all been waiting for.

Going to get a big team together to visit the Olympia!

Good luck to both guys!

Big thanks to Chris Zorba of OMMAC for making this fight happen. There have been talks going back a few weeks now and Chris was very patient, whilst we took our time and made our decision. We had a few other offers on the table but this fight was set at the right time and the terms and conditions sealed the deal.

I know everybody at WPFM is very excited about this fight as Paul Sass has proven himself to be an excellent young prospect and has some fantastic skills. However I don't think he has faced anyone like Rob Sinclair in his career so far and I fully expect Rob to come away with the victory.

Nevertheless this is probably going to be the domestic showdown of the year and i can't wait for it to happen.

Thanks again to Chris and we're counting down the days already.

lol @ Sass getting submitted

Why? Some of the best submission fighters in the world have been subbed. As good as he is and has been, doesnt in any way mean he cant get subbed. May come from a mistake from Sass, a slick move from Rob or set up by big bombs shaking him up and leaving him open. Anything can happen and it'd be no disgrace if Sass did get subbed or vice versa. Sass has good wrist control, which he'll need or else Rob's GnP could do a lot of damage.

With all the talk of the under rated parts of Sass's game, I hope we finally get chance to see those elements and see how they fair against Rob who's strong points are well known. Sass is a highlight reel makers dream at the minute!!

That said I think both fighters are exciting to watch and it's definately gonna be a full house at the Olympia for one of the best match ups of the year.

I'm going for Rob to win, with both head and heart, no disrespect to Paul in any way shape or form. But either way it'll be a cracking fight. Good luck to both and for God's sake, both keep healthy!!!

Purple iirc

Purple iirc

He got his Purple about 1 and a half years ago now. He's a strong purple if not Brown IMO. That said, Rob won't submit him. Excellent fight though and like I said before, definately the biggest test of Pauls career.

Hopefully thie fight will actually go down this time. I think its gonna be a tough fight for both guys. Sass doesnt have the best takedowns in the world and I think on the feet hes gonna be in serious trouble with Rob but at the same time, Rob can get a bit wild when he smells blood and thats when Sass could quite easily catch him.

Im gonna go with Rob by late stoppage or decision but a Sass submission wouldnt surprise me at all.

We hav just rolled for 15 mins thats half of todays training, if Rob trains fulltime like he his planning to he will be one scary prospect.....

Great fight for 2 very good fighters, I think Rob is the favorite but to be fair everyone seems to underestimate Sass to their perill, very interesting fight....

Can we make the rounds shorter as I dont think I can hold my breath for 5 mins...

Rob, how confident are you if it goes to the ground? He proably has the best BJJ in the UK right now, everyone that has took him down gets subbed" I think it a good move to keep it standing, I feel his stand up and wrestling are his weak points!

Jason Ball dropped him and even medicore wreslters take him down with ease!

Dont know if sass actually tries to defend takedowns or even why he should when you are taking him to his best position and doing half of the job for him...???

agree with the take down comments about sass more work needs to go into them

I will have to go back and look at sinclairs last few fights to refresh the memory

this could be over in the first minute or a 3 round war..

Easily the biggest UK fight this year and only at OMMAC ....

Am no trainer, but i think the best gameplan is to stand up with him, and batter him on the feet, i cant see him get you down as his wrestling isn't to great! jason ball used a good gameplan, until getting careless!

Rob Sinclair will take this I think, without a doubt.

This is a hell of a fight - you have to admire the balls of both guys for taking on the other.

Both have awesome skills and are top lads, so instead of picking a winner or even watching it, I'm gonna move to the other side of the world and hold my breath.

Props to Chris, WPFM and NG.
