Free grappling comp at VTJJ gym

Address:-

Unit 1A Cricketts Lane
Chippenham
Wiltshire
SN15 3EQ

Weight divisions:-
Adults
Open weight/Absolute
-93
-84
-77
-70
-65

Women will probably have to be open weight. If you won't compete against someone over a certain size, let me know

I might add experience classes if I get enough entries. I may also merge the 65 and 70 divisions if i don't have enough entries but I will let you know a week in advance so you can adjust your weight

Kids (under 16)
+50
-50
-40
-30
-25
-20
kids submission division (open weight)

might add more if I get enough entries

0.5kg allowance for your crappy scales (mine are accurate ;)). Weigh-ins at 9-9.30, comp starts at 10. If you are late, you may not be entered in to your division (you can still jump in the absolute). Divisions limited to 8 competitors, first come first serve

Rules
No subs for kids except in the kids sub division
Any choke
Any armlock
No twisting leg/ankle locks. Figure four ankle locks (toe holds) are allowed
No spine/neck locks/cranks (including twister, stocks and can opener). A rough guillotine will be allowed
No slams over 6 inches (ref's judgement). If you are lifted over 6 inches, you have to let go and restart in guard
No normal dirty stuff (striking, eye gouging, pinching, hair pulling etc). If you are unsure about a technique, ask me and I will tell you if your dirty tactic is allowed

Points
Takedown - 2
Clean takedown (land in side control or mount) - 4
Mount - 2
Knee on belly - 2
Take the back with hooks or body triangle (must be properly on back) - 2
Sweep from guard or half guard - 2
Pulling guard/half guard - minus 1 unless significant sub attempt within 3 seconds
Reversal from mount/side control - 0
No points scored if significant sub attempt is made during transition. Significant sub attempt is at ref's discretion
Positions must be held for 3 seconds. Points must be scored for something else before they can be awarded for the same position again

Everyone will have to sign a waiver
My gym is not very big, so space will be given to competitors first. Spectators may not get access

Rounds will be 4 mins with 1 min over time and will all be knockout tournament format. If numbers are low, I might do a round robin
2 matches guaranteed, as I'll match up those who lose in the first round

Because I won't be taking in any money, I probably won't have much in the way of medals or trophies. Winners can feel free to buy their own

If you wish to enter, email me at leighremedios@gmail.com with the division you wish to enter and your experience level (+/- 2 years). If I do experience divisions, sandbaggers may or may not be moved into another division (including putting you up a weight class) but you will almost certainly be ripped and taunted by me

Entries by October 3rd, so I can let people know if I'm merging/splitting divisions. Entries after that will cost a tenner as a laziness tax

Any questions or feedback are welcomed

Rachel enjoyed the comp last time round but she's in Thailand so cant make it this time. Be good to get some more girls in this time round and I'd recommend it.
