Would it not be better to have three guys that were from different categories on each team e.g -75, -85 and -95kg or sumthin similar? At a combined weight of 270kg you could have three -90kg guys vs three smaller guys, or just bring the combined weight down to -240kg??

Sounds Good

Not if you got drawn against a 100kg + monster in the first round daywalker!

Weights are really going to favour heavweight teams, three guys around the weight top end are at a massive advantage. Could be some safety issues like a 120kg guy hitting a half decent takedown on a 70kg guy would be nasty.

Couldn't each team be bracketed to say up to 75kg, up to 90kg then 90+. Then guys only fight against those in the same weight brackets. Can't imagine the highest level lower weight competitors signing up to potentail beasting by someone a lot bigger.

If you want to wear a 'Gi/Kimono' or any uniform etc, then fine you can do so, or if you prefer not to wear a Gi/Kimono or would prefer to wear shorts and rashguard etc, then that's fine too, basically you decide...

this and the confusing weight divisons

It's a Team Event, and you can wear what you want.

Ok granted its a team event, i think thats excellent to feel pride in representing your school, but why can't you enter under your school's name, instead of having to find 2 other guys matching the correct weight catagories to come with you so that you can enter, and can one place with many students enter more than one team?
And finally why isn't there a split no-gi and gi catagories, i'm sure people would enter both, and i'm pretty sure loads will enter as no-gi, i wouldn't want to go against a guy with a gi on and have him use spider guard on me.
I'm not trying to be rude its just a bit confusing is all.

You can enter representing your Club, Group, School or Academy etc, infact who ever you want, and its a Team Event, i.e. there are 3 Fighters in each Team, with a maximum combined weight for each Team, of which is and must not exceed 270kg.

You can enter as many Teams you wish from the same Club, Group, School or Academy etc, there are no limits.

We did not split the Event, i.e 'Gi' and 'No Gi', as we have no idea as to who or how many will enter, we do not know what the turn out would be for both, that is why there are no restrictions on wear for this our first ever Team Event.

However, we always aim to please, so should we receive enough Team entries who are 'With Gi' etc, to justify a split, then I'm sure we will be able to accommodate this, as so to keep everyone happy, if not, then it will stay as it is, with no wear restriction etc, 'Gi' or 'No Gi'.
So you can enter on your own repping your club no need for two other guys? If so it seems good.

I hate repeating myself, please read the last post again...

You've not answered his question directly. It says a team event but he's talking about entering on his own and fighting all the bouts on his own.

Ah i understand now, but tbh it is a tad confusing is all, its individual and team, with gi or no gi, i'm in.

So can one person count as a team and fight all the bouts on their own? imagine if you did that and won!

Lmao, all i'm asking is can i enter for my club on my own in one weight class, or do i have to drag 2 others with me to make a team, even though me representing my club on my own still is a team thing, looking now at the entry form looks like it is 3 guys at least so one can enter.
