Paul mcVeigh v Chris David - Europe's best BW goes against an EXC and KOTC veteran with an impressive record and crazy video interview skills to match
James doolan v TBC - Doolan don't do boring fights and has amazing striking and has fought in Japan too
Fred Fernandez v Kevin macalonan - Freddy came in on 48 hours notice against a heavier guy in the M-1 Challenge and despite carrying injuries looked awesome and was so close to putting a decent level DEEP fighter away with some lighting quick strikes. Despite his record Freddie is tough and can mix it in many styles. Whilst McAlanon is tough and was seconds away from choking out "Denzil" before losing in his title bout. I've seen him put people away slickly in submissions and can batte it out standing too. He should be huge at the weight too and a tough fight for most players in the European game
John quinn v Tom Egan - Only heard great things about Quinn, he has a 6-0 pro record (?) and would have the world raving about him if he lived in the NE or in the 'pool. Whilst Egan is a UFC vet and has a lot to prove after his experience in the big show. Training with the likes of JK means he's only going to improve (and maybe if he wins he'll fight Jimmy Wallhead j/k :p)
James Mair v Arni Isakkson Two guys who are under the rader in many ways, i know James has a top record and if this is at Welterweight it should be a WAR. Arni Isakksson won an 8 man CWFC Welterweight tourney 3 years ago being Dennis SIver in the final. He's strong, powerful and posses some awesome striking and although he has had time out, i think if he can return to form he will be a top 10 European WW.
John cullen v Sergei Greicicho Greicicho has a KO win over the former Shooto World Champion Masahiro Oishi ...enough said ! Cullen has a good record too and this will be his toughest test by far
Steven mcCombe v Artemij Sitenkov - Sitenkov is a top 5 ranked Bantamweight in Europe and holds 2 wins over David Lejnes (the European Shooto 65kg champ) and has mixed it in there with some top guys too. McCombe has fought Ronnie Mann, McVeigh and Leigh Remedios, is huge at the weight and is really tough too and is well versed in the game too.
This is a massive opportunity for Scottish MMA as their guys are getting their chance to shine on a good stage and i think it will show the rest of the UK MMA scene that putting on good, solid exciting fights is the way forward rather than questionable matchmaking that sells tickets
Excellent Card. Wish I could be there.

personally i disagree with you.
i thought the fight was interesting because McVeigh was always moving and recovered position very well against a talented wrestler
i also think in Mark Conners fight the standup wasnt shocking at all, i think there was alot of single shots as opposed to combinations but MMA isnt all classy combinations, that fight was alot of positional clinch work, especially the first round.
I thought it was a good fight to kickoff the show

I thought it was a good fight to kickoff the show
Yeah I said that there was alot of transitions and takedown defense :D
but i totally disagree with you about the first fight, the stand up needs more practise, that was the first time I have seen a windmill when it hasnt been in a pub.

no mark connor's fight was windmills coming from both fighters lol. but i think to say it was shocking is a bit harsh they were just throwing anything they could looking for the win

Yeh learned alot from my fight. Going through a transition period just now to become more professional with my fights as windmilling only works for so long. Am looking to take things to the next level and to do this I have to up my game and have a tighter all round game. Watch this space

anytime you have lost you have came back stronger mate, the card last night matching scottish fighters with decent level europeans is a great indicator how far the top level fighters in this country have came on.

Well up for this sort of event again. Was great to fight someone that I haven't seen or knew much about. Test you in different ways. And as I said learned loads.

i'm obviously not happy with how my fight panned out last night - my stand-up and wrestling both need alot of work for sure.
i spent almost five minutes trying to get a takedown from the clinch and by the start of the second round, i had basically burnt my arms out, so i started loading up on my punches to compensate for the speed or snap i was lacking.
my performance was absolute rubbish and pete is a tough dude, i'll do better next time...

Anaconda ain't 1 of us m8. Can't think of them all to be honest. When I think
On it the only nick names that have probally stuck is mines and chris.

Has anyone claimed the nickname trouser snake yet? I think that would be quite an intimidating name. No one wants to get smashed in the ring by the trouser snake.
I remember one of the guys from the Vipers used the nick name "the tit man" on what i think was the second Viper fight night. I can't remember the guys full name (Vinnie something). I heard it was a typo but i think it's a great name.

Yeh typo. Was suppost to be Vinny the hit man Taylor LOL. Classic tho. Trouser snake is a good one. Open for a lot of banter

Was my first big live event since joining the Griphouse and had a great night...even took the missus and she loved it!
Amazed me how many people in the venue and online seem so qualified to pass judgement without ever having entered the ring.
Firstly, any one who has the balls to enter that cage has my full respect and support from the off....only unfortunate part of the night was some drunken clown thinking his fighting skills were superior to those in the cage...even the girlfriend said she was going to stilleto him in the head if he didn't shut up! Think he was a sponser so better not out him!
Anyway highlights have to go to:
Lovey destroying the French guy....the girlfriend felt sorry for the poor guy...but Kudos goes to him for even going out for second round when he could hardly stand....as for not tapping with Lovey going for that heel hook! I was looking through squinted eyes convinced some serious damage was going to happen!
James, calm as fuck carrying opponent over to his corner for advice, incredible ability to keep the fight where he wanted it....and well what can be said about that finish!! Absolutely what MMA is all about skill at every discipline.
Lowlights:
Has to be Paul, really thought he turned the corner in the second round, was convinced he was going to do it. There is always a next time. Plus surprised me how many people started leaving before the result! It was a close call I thought, so surprised people left before decision.
The local boy upsets.
Drunken clown who must have ruined a load of peoples enjoyment with his nuggets of "wisdom". Sure he is a funny guy when sober...
All in all a great night out....even missus said whens the next one!

you were winning right up till you got caught bobby in my opinion, your defo in for a shot at hairdo of the night though as a consolation. jury's still out whether it's to go to you or Paul. Think you may have nicked it :D

Good show on Saturday, some fantastic fights.
No Love for fight of the night.
Another great win for Quinny he makes it look easy lol.
James Doolans head kick was a peach.
Gutted for JC, tell me this though does JC's loss get recorded as a knockout or TKO, he did not tap so surely it cant be a submission, even when he looses he's as hard as fuck.

I also thought the officials were excellent on Saturday, the referee's made good calls while letting the fighters get on with it and the judges made good decisions on the rare occasions they were asked to.
Well done guys.
