In one of the most bizarre finishes in UK MMA history, Tadas Mikelaitis spent nearly all of round one in full mount, throwing punches at Haydn Ward. But Mikelaitis gassed badly and took more damage from Ward's hammer fists from the bottom and eventually lost his grip on consciousness, collapsing onto his opponent.

Heard about that...sounds mad!

I've never seen a fighter enjoy himself so much before a fight like Mikelaitis did.

He was head banging and dancing to the entrance music as other fighters came in, he was really animated watching the fights and just generally looked pumped.

When he gassed it was very apparent very quickly, and laughter spread throughout the crowd as his ground and pound got more ineffective.

Elsewhere on the card, there were four wins out of four fights for Hyde MMA. Dave Latus knocked out Simon Hull, Craig Chesters beat Benjamin Dennis by doctor stoppage, Lee Johnson TKO'd Peter Rejdovjan and the well-supported Leigh Cohoon choked Neil Huntley in round one.

I liked Haydn's games plan. Take punches to the face till you opponent tires and passes out....worked well for him.
