View Full Version : Cro Cop: "Maybe I should have quit after winning the Pride Grand Prix."
Sad words. It was tough to watch him lose like that. Really sounds like he's done for good.

He should quit if he's not motivated. Dos Santos is the future of the HW division along with Valasquez, Carwin and Lesnar.
I think he has 3 big problems. 1 is he's not big enough, 2 is his head and 3 is he's not really good enough. :(
I'm not a Mirko hater either but theres no way he was ever going to get to the title. Kongo is a benchmark top 10 guy and he struggled.

A Shame, but he looked like a shadow of his former self. to to hang it up before the legend is damaged to much.

Sad words indeed :o(
But very honest, he looked awful though, infact he looked awful against Kongo & Al Turk for that matter. The Gabe Gonzaga headkick absolutely finished him imho. Such a devastating KO has left him gun shy, nervy, afraid to get hit, afraid to engage, tentative.... very sad. :(

Let the man fight, it's his legacy, not ours, no matter how many times he fights from now on nothing will take away the Pride GP he won. If he wants to fight then who are we to tell him he shouldn't.

any fighter, showing up not in condition and not wanting to win, shouldn't be fighting, if he decides to stop feeling sorry for himself, pull his shit together and kick some ass he should a 100% continue.

I don't think he's feeling sorry for himself, he's just openly admitting he doesn't feel the hunger for the sport anymore and thinks its time to go relax and catch some fish :D. Fair play to him imo, if he doesnt have the hunger or the will and can openly say so he might aswell stop fighting. Plus I don't see how you'd say he was 'not in condition', he just got beat up.

He's just gonna take more beatings in the UFC though mate.

That's his decision though isn't it? We are a bunch of fans who give our opinions on a discussion board, not Cro Cops mum. Who are we to tell a fighter that they shoudn't fight?
Blood hell what a sight! I reckon he should take some time of like Tito and Chuck. As he says he's been training his arse off for 20 years. Sounds like he needs a break!

I think the thing about him saying he was thinking about fishing on his ring entrance said it all. His heads not in it and therefore he doesn't really want to be there. He shouldn't fight unless he clears his head then.

Yeah... seeing him at LHW against a Chuck, Tito or Keith Jardine would be pretty excellent, but I think he's been saying for years that it's totally impossible for him to reach that weight, and catch-weight fights only seem popular at '95.
