Current timetable:
Tuesday – 8 - 930
Friday – 7 - 830
Sunday – 12 - 130

(£5 per class, or £30 per month)
(Private one-on-one and small group tuition also available, call or drop in for details)

We've been running for about 18 months now and we've had successes in submission wrestling competitions, amateur, semi-pro and pro MMA. We've recently renovated the gym and installed an MMA cage, larger matted area with a cage wall separating us from the weights area, as well as a boxing ring, variety of striking bags, CV equipment (old and new school), changing facilities and fully stocked supplement shop.

The usual curriculum is a blend of clinchwork and freestyle wrestling, no-gi BJJ generally tailored to be transferable to MMA and MMA oriented striking.We train hard but intelligently and have built up a friendly welcoming atmosphere.

Chester guys fought at U.M.A. grappling event today. Strong lads with good game and a top job by Dave and Rich doiong their corners.

Yeah, I'm proud of how well our lads did on Sunday after only 4 months training (none had previously trained or competed before!)

We're moving to bigger premises in the new year so I'll be adding a few more weekly sessions, as well as getting some of the pro boxers ready to make the switch to MMA.

Of course mate, we've got guys from 70kgs up to 110kgs and a mix of ability levels.

Nathan: "The wrestler" who got silver in the advanced U75kg division was on the Romanian GrecoRoman Olympic team. Hes teaching me how to bury people with throws and I'm in the process of turning him into a submission/MMA fighter (and we're all learning the hard way how to resist/escape headlocks!)

Yea mate, I was till we moved, we're just round the corner from there now. Do you train there? I keep meaning to do some judo (my gi-work sucks) but I'm too busy.

How do you alternate between MMA training and Grappling

for example, do you do MMA one day and Grappling another or is it half and half each session or .. ??

"How do you alternate between MMA training and Grappling"
= it depends what the lads are taining towards mate, generally we'll break the class up. I try to make sure guys have got a good basic understanding of positioning etc before they do full MMA sparring

Yeah we're still goin, in fact we just got fully fitted out with a cage and bigger matted area with a cage wall, as well as boxing ring and bags.
We can cater for total newbs right up to pro fighters so you'd be welcome down any time, first session of the new year is tomorrow night!

ok. I may be in a position to train regularly now so is this still on at chester? I'll always regret it if i dont try, i need to get back in shape before my fitness is lost beyond recovery and to be honest, i want to know i can handle myself!
