hi people here again in my ever present quest to find out, what the fuk is wrong with me, cos the doctors dont want to know. i think i may have come across the thing that actually may be wrong with me, SLIPPING RIB SYNDROME. just wondering if anyone here has ever experienced this particular affliction, or knows anyone who has, or even anything about it and ways to combat it, iv done a lot of research the last few days and find the symptoms are almost identical to the symptoms i suffer, and im simply trying to gather as much info as possible then im going to print every single bit out and confront my doctor with it. anyhoo, any info or advice is appreciated. thanx

mate iv come to the realisation that it originated from my ribs and that if i do anything active, the ribs at my spine flair up first and then they sort of spread up my back then my rhomboids flare up, so after searchin all over the internet the last few days iv found a website that details the exact symptoms i have, and the ways in which these symptoms come about, and all arrows point to slipping rib syndrome, basics are the first signs are chest pains just under the pecs feeling like a heart attack, and stabbing pains through from back to the front of chest, iv been getting these since i was about fourteen and was once rushed into hospital by my mam because she found me doubled over in pain in sittin room, and she thought i was having a heart attack. these pains indicate the weakening of the ligaments. over timer this results in inflamation of the ligaments and tendons and also the cartalidge in the ribs which can radiate round to the front, wich is why i have been experiencing pain in front of ribs under left side and below sternum, and then a sudden jolt or being hit in the chest can loosen it furtherr resulting in it slipping, well as u know i get hit in the chest daily in training, and the actuall thing that set it of was when i fell down some steps about a year ago, for about f two weeks i couldnt breath properly or move properly, and as its healed it hasnt been put back in properly and i think its never fully healed you know, its funny how the exact symptoms iv been having for years are the same as the symptoms they describe for this, but they say that its an under diagnosed condition because gps no so little about it. iv messaged a lad iv found on muscle and fitness forum that sed hes been diagnosed wit it after a year and a half like so im going to see what he says.

I grew up in Florida & have seen it with swimmers. I hear it’s painful, but it’s difficult to pinpoint and articulate the pain. Supposedly, it described as a thoracic injury. I understand it’s a longstanding injury that most doctors are not familiar with. (Often goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed) What I’ve “personally” seen is that when jumping, twisting and the general warm up motions before competing becomes uncomfortable/painful it is an indication. Keep in mind; I’m speaking of swimmers not fighters. Anyhow, I’ve only seen it treated with pain management and physical therapy. If it’s a suspicion you have, I would ask the Doctor to “rule it out” since some don’t accept suggestions humbly.

i think that is going to be my next move seeing a specialist, i just wouldnt know how to go about finding one, its also the costs of seeing a specialist you know, im currently a student. saying that id pay all of my student loans over at once to be fixed like, so if i find one ill definately go. cheers mate
