Seen something similar happening to a guido who was utilizing suicide grip. Thankfully he was only pushing 80k at the time. Still made a bloody mess.
Must be gutting for the family.

thats pretty messed up, i am constrantly being reminded of how fragile life actually is.

Suicide grip is the grip illustrated in the bottom picture.

^ just people dying all the time , no one in particular , plus me and my mrs were talking about how easily you could bleed to death if you got stabbed in the leg.

Hate to hear of stuff like this happening, especially when I'm just back from the gym after a workout feeling great.
Powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding ect are similar to martial arts in that theres a strong sense of brotherhood that can be built up by doing such activities and this is very sad to hear.
And on another level I find it strange, I myself have been using a suicide grip when I bench for 4 years now and the bar has never even come close to slipping out my hands. Even when going for a 1RM and such. So as mental as it sounds this isn't a wake up call for me.
