Hi people. Just curious of peoples opinions on Weighteed vests. You find them any good?! I was thinking of doing cardio work (Jogging, Stand up Drills, BJJ Drills) in one.

Great piece of kit, iv had one for a while, use it for so many things, adds a new dimension to any exercise and makes pads work a bitch

Good for weight loss James?
And any ideas where they can be picked up for a good price and what weight do you usually have on yours

I wear one for running, skipping, the stepper and bag work. You'll get tired loads faster but feel amazing when you take it off. It's like wearing heavier gloves, you'll just get faster and faster when you take it off.

never used it to lose weight, use it mostly for uni lateral stuff, and to make body weight exercises harder, hitting pads wearing it is real tough on the core, us wighted bag gloves for this as well

Hey James thanks man
I just thought it would have been a good tool for weight cutting, as I know a lot of boys would put pad work into their routine as part of a weight cut!
What do you find best James, and how much do you cut for fights, I know its a good bit, whats your diet and training like to achieve it mate?
And does it get easier as you do it more often?

i cut about 9-11kg now for MMA fights normaly, some times have been easier than others but its never easy.
pad works a big part of my routine for for conditioning and sharpness, my weight cut comes from few weeks dieting some extra cardio and if need be some water loss although not in an extreme way
I use a 10kg reebok ironwear vest mostly for strength/conditioning stuff, paul and dean have an18kg bastard the use a bit

So you would be walking about at times up to 72kg James?
10kg vest is nasty, never mind the full 18kg.
Thanks again mate, looking foward too seeing Turner at Featherweight, how has he been finding that cut, it looked as though there was little if anything at all to come off him mate, he will be a monster at fw, if he adapts to the way he did lw, he will be a force like jc on the uk scene at feather

Yea i walk around about 71-72 maybe up to 4 weeks out Paul is the same.
Turner is doing a three week cut to get down to featherweight starts november 7th , should be super strong for the weight while maintaining his explosiveness and work rate hopefully.

Man, thats unreal James!
I take it he had done a few practice cuts then?
And what weight does Turner walk about at, or is he actually cutting from 70 this time?
Thats the thing ive been impressed with Turner, the work rate, he is the same in thai and mma!
