Ok i have a question. What does it take achievment wise for a coach{any coach}to name there MMA Academy or club after themselves?
There are examples of this on a international scale-Extreme Couture{Randy couture UFC multiple times champion in two weight categories, hall of famer,Greg Jacksons, produced several champions and notables,GSP,Rashad Evans,Jardine,Nate Marquardt,Shane Carwin etc},on a national level we have The Sinclairs MMA Academy{two of the best light weights in the U.K with outstanding pro careers and titles in arguably best U.K show, and have several excellent fighters in there stable}.
The above examples certainly without question deserve there name recognition in there MMA Academys. So back to the question :What does it take achievment wise for a coach{any coach}to name there MMA Academy or club after themselves? Is it within reason for anyone to name there club after themselves?

If its there club i dont see why they cant name it after themselves but i guess it helps if that name is well known in the art there teaching.

I believe it is within reason for anyone to do this. Who knew of Greg Jackson when he first opened his academy ? Now look at what he has gone on to become.

Yeah i suppose anyone can do this, but in the same anyone can fight pro mma. Myself i feel unless someone has competed at pro at a good level, national or international,or produced a good standard pro fighters i feel it's a little pretentious.

yeah i think that you should only name a club/team after yourself if you have competed at a high level of mma or any type or martial arts and proven ur self and are well known for been great at what you do. Otherwise i think its just another way 2 TRY and make a name for your self but unless you are great at whatever you are doing or have proved it by training up great fighters then its just pointless.

i agree if the person owns the club they can name it whatever they want, but i dont agree that you have to have competed at the highest level to be a great coach.
some one could be the best fighter in the world and a shit teacher just because they have acheived the highest level means nothing if they cant pass it on to others from a club stand point i mean.
and on the flip side some one could have a real solid understanding of the sport and may not be the greatest fighter or possibly choose not to fight at all, but have a teaching method and mma sporting knowledge second to none, able to pass on and produce great fighters.
