Thanks. Claire sounds awesome, it would be great to see her fight MMA in the UK. Suitably experienced opponents at that weight are a bit thin on the ground at the moment, sadly. If I hear of anything, I'll certainly mention her name :)

Out of interest, what's her walking around weight? What's the absolute lowest and highest weights she'd consider?

Two names that spring to mind - I know ******** West is always looking for opponents (although she's a little heavier) and Aisling Daly in Ireland, who's a bit lighter - AFAIK likes to fight at 57kgs but I think has fought as high as 60kgs in the past.

she walks around at 63 -

she fought thai over here for a fair few years at 60kg, then went to thailand year and a half ago to train/fight - got the chance to fight for the WPMF 63.5kg so took it.....a little heavier than normal but hey its a bona fide title

then got chance to fight Julie at 65kg the other week so again took it...and was stuffing herself just to get close to 65kg....so for her 60/61 is perfect

but shed fight 60-65

we'll be hopefully getting her back over for a rematch at 63.5 with Julie on one of the big thai shows... but the MMA is a chicken an egg as she spoke to Scott at Strikeforce...and they want like 5 or 6 MMA fights - before getting her back - so shes trying hard to get those!

If she walks at 63, could she make 57 for a day before weigh in? That would give her a lot more options in the UK - some solid opponents at that weight.

Hey Rosi,

Thanks for throwing my name into the mix :) I've actually fought as high as 65kgs but my last few fights have been at 55kg considering the cut to 52kg but 57kg could be a goer. I'll speak to JK about it and see what he has to say on it and let you all know.

Thanks,
Ais :)

No worries, it would be great to see more high quality female MMA going on over here :)

perhaps anna mayne could be another potential opponent for claire at 57 (if she could get there)
