I was going to get a gi from Black Eagle (Christmas present) as i had previously ordered through them and thought they had a good selection of products and that they were a reputable company.
Previously, I had ordered a gi bag a few months back, think i paid about £40 for it.
After a month i noticed that the material around the main zipper was begining to fray. Not wanting to make a fuss i decided to see what would happen and over the past week the material (nylon i think) has completely come away from the zip meaning the bag does not close making it pretty useless.
I sent an email at the start of the week to Black Eagle and explained the problem requesting a replacement or a credit note.
To my surprise I received a single line response from a gentleman by the name of Graham Mudd i believe, stating that as i had had the bag for some time (several months) there was nothing he could do.
Im completely surprised by the response, i expected a lot more from a local business looking to establish themselves.
Without wanting to seem unreasonable, under the sale of goods act, the product should be fit for the purpose of its stated use, i.e. a gi bag. I must have used the bag 20 times and it is now completely unfit for the use i purchased it for.
I have seen numerous posts under the name of 'Black Eagle' and having read them in the past, thought they seemed like reasonable people.
Come on Black Eagle, this is particularly unreasonable behaviour.
My email address is juliantma@hotmail.com, I'd appreciate a response.
