Sorry if this is old hat......

Filming on the big screen version of action favourite A-Team took one step closer this week with news that a script writer has been found for the movie.

James Bond scribe Bruce Feirstein, who worked on The World Is Not Enough, will attempt to bring a 21st century slant to what is perhaps the best loved example of 1980s Saturday afternoon nostalgia to receive a Hollywood rehashing so far.

A-Team producers claim the new and improved crack commando unit that was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit is likely to be far less cartoony than the original in which, despite frequent firefights, in a 98 episode run resulted in exactly zero casualties.

On the casting front nothing concrete has been established so far, although some exciting and suitably a-list names linked to the project are refusing to go away.

George Clooney has already been strongly linked with the project and if convinced to come aboard would be a shoe-in for the role of renegade chieftain Hannibal. Mike Tyson could be set to play BA, and while Brad Pitt as the prettier-than-pretty Face and Jim Carrey as the nutcase Murdoch might be stretching studio coffers a little too far, a blueprint dream team for the soldier of fortune foursome may yet be a possibility.
