View Full Version : Brawl at the Bay 3!!! Sat 3rd April!!! New date!!!
UrbanDisturbance
24-01-2010, 04:17 PM
Due to our venue double booking us with a "DARTS" competition :D we have had to change date again. Hopefully for the last time. So lets try again...
Adding to a busy calender for Scotland.
We're holding our 3rd Brawl at the Bay on Saturday 3rd April.
Pettycur Bay, Kinghorn, Fife. Doors open 6pm, First fight 7pm.
Cage event as usual and hoping to raise the bar even further this year. If we can make this show as big a success as our previous 2 then I'd like to look into moving to a bigger venue for our next event that would really help make MMA it's mark in Scotland.
Looking for fighters:- Amateur, Semi-Pro and Pro at all weights and experience. Good purses paid.
Can you contact(PM on here or call) me 07977151710 or Alan Martin(mertin on here) 07961848833 with any guys you have with weight, level and experience.
Hoping to support a few shows around this time with our own fighters and bolster our card with fighters from other clubs instead of most of our own guys filling our card.

You cnt fight Ama if you have fought Semi pro, thats a bit unfair aint it. just my 2 pence worth!
Although depends how many fights he had and if he got beat at his first semi pro and found it, nt to be for him so going bk to Ama,
Scott.

I don't see why not?
Both are known as beginners stages of an MMA career, you may have better strikers in semi-pro but guys who do AM may have a higher standard of grappling.
Plus even if said person did revert back to AM rules what difference would it make, it's not like he's gonna KO his opponent cause he's done strikes to the head before.
I could see the problem if it was a pro fighting semi pro or am.

I base it on cage/ring experiance!
However that is just my opinion.
Scott.

Paul Jenkins fought Pro and then Semi and the Am in one year, with loads of other fights in between. I think he is probably more of an exception than the rule though. However i think they are basically three different sports that have similarities. Some people could be world champion Am fighters but their game might not transition well to Pro. I don't see an issue going between the three as long as you are being honest with your experience and record to your opponent.

Johnny Martin v Chris Batty will be a clash of styles with Chris being out in Thailand for a while, should be a good one.
Some talent on the undercard Darren Gray has been awesome recently, will be fighting pro soon, Steven Ray has been very impressive when ive seen him, intresting fight against Darren Gunnell who has a lot of expierence.

Looks a good card. Can't wait to see it. Rory and Paul are champing at the bit now. Callum is an utter smashing machine. Seans improved greatly since his last win. So he'll do really well.
Steven ray looks unstoppable at the moment. Daniel Reid just so calm and collected its not true. He was not even out of breath after his last fight.
