UK MMA is huge now, hell an MMA fighter just won Celebrity Big Brother !
'09 was a great your for British fighters, which British fighters do you believe are destined for the big shows this year ?

If Jim Wallhead strings together a series of wins in Bellator he will make it into the big time.
2010 could also be Terry Etims break out year if he continues to fight like he has been in his last 4 fights.

Best of luck to jim wallhead in bellator .....As said above I think this is a big year for terry etim... On a domestic note, maybe 2 more wins and sass could get the important call! And hopefully he can stay injury free mark scanlon will have a great year, he's been very unlucky with injuries!! Also watch out for jay gladden and pietro menga :)

no offence, but the Belletor is kinda the big time:confused: or am I missing something?
I think the Winner of Sass/Young will no doubt get on to a international show after that fight. as there wont be much left in UK for them. obviously I think Jason will get the win and be in the WEC by end of Summer, but.... this MMA game is crazy....
Tim Newman is one to watch.. as is Danny Mitchell. Karsten Lenjoint, if he beats Lawson, then he is in a seious position to push away from UK after a couple mor fights...

Big time is pretty much the UFC, or if your on the main card of strikeforce.

it's a shame that people think that.. it really is..
UFC is no doubt number 1, but to say that they are the only "big" name out there, damn.... japan has nothing, canada has nothing, bellator, WEC, Shine... all shit...

Im just saying thats the general consensus(spelling?)
Bellator is a pretty high level, but being in a tournament thats got some great fighters in it is a great acheivment.

what about martin stapleton?
is there a chance he could get a shot on the big stage?
hurricane

from our team i'd like to see paul mcveigh and james doolan getting a shot in the wec!
Domestically allan love, john cullen, john quinn and graham turner should make advances in their respective divisions
what about martin stapleton?
is there a chance he could get a shot on the big stage?"Stapes" as everyone loved to scream during TUF has been forgotten in recent months with all the fuss over the likes of Etim, Wallhead and the other TUF guys...but he's probably the one i'd most like to see "make it".
As things stand from a non-opinionated viewpoint though. it's gotta be Terry Etim, he's the one best placed right now to hit the bit time.

Pretty much the same as I said last time.
Paul Sass is destined for the big time in the next few years. I'd say Tim Newman, Alex Makhonin, Rob Sinclair, Danny Mitchell and Curt Warburton have great chances of going far this year and next, and hopefully the WEC picks up both McVeigh and Doolan soon.
My one to watch out for on the domestic scene this year is Fraser Opie. Was very impressed with him when he beat Dan Abbott - who is looking a great prospect also. Obviously, Pietro Menga stands out a mile as well, as does Uche Ihiekwe. Can't wait to see all four guys turn pro, either this year or next.

Is Terry Etim fighting Dos Anjos at Abu Dabi UFC? This is a match up I think would be mazing and make the main card (Although the main card will be so damn stacked already)

Hathaway and Slick Nick. Hopefully they won't have to fight eachother, but there's HUGE potential there imo.
Also, I think Andre will be a bit of a break out star after he KO's Miller. Sky's the limit for him imo if he "let's it go".

The winner of Fadiora V Mitchell will continue their unbeaten streak and surely go onto massive things in 2010.
Kevin and Martin Thompson, Dave Keeley, Sinclairs, McVeigh - WEC ( has to happen !!! )

I think there are going ot be some very good welsh boys making there mark!!
Tim Newman for sure is gunna do big things hes got Jason ball in three weeks which will be his biggest test to date but i think he has by far got the skills to be all over that fight.
Nathan Beer is another one 2 watch with a fight with Rob Sinclair coming up on BAMMA there wont be much left to say after he wins there.
Joseph Duffy is a huge talent and will shock you all if he starts getting some top 10 opponents this year.

Oli Thompson will make it big this year

If rob broughton doesn't make a big show this year either he or his management must have seriously pissed someone off. Done everything he could at this level.
Obvious shout outs for my boys Mcveigh and Doolan to WEC

2010 will be a big year for Joe Duffy. Tim Newman and Nathan Beer both have big fights coming up, will get massive recognition if they pick up the big Wins.
I think Ross Pearson will have a good year in Ufc as well as the other Uk fighters.
Stapes, Irving and Wallhead will do well.
Ronnie Mann and Mike Edwards will have an explosive 2010 Im sure.

terry etim be in number 1 contender spot by end of year
We were calling him Stapes long before TUF...

Sass, Broughton, Etim, Wallhead. Etim's obviously tearing up the UFC already, but he has the potential to have a HUGE 2010.

There are a lots of guys that are up there in the pickings and have established themselves on the big stage.
But with purely looking at the young guns, its Danny Mitchell, he has a solid pedigree and there is a lot of interest around him already. If he keeps it up his winning streak, we'll have him fighting overseas on bigger stages sooner then you think.

I'm gonna class already being in the Ufc as 'big time'
So...
Rob Broughton
Che ( the other ) Mills :)
Danny Mitchell
Martin Thompson
Pete Irving
Alex Machonin
Jason Ball
Alan Love
What people forget is the Ufc ain't just about the best guys, it's about entertainment as well, they like guys who'll bang, put out a crazy work rate or as Randy says let it all hang out, simply being a good technician ain't enough!!
The Us is filled with world class wrestlers with awesome GNP but I'd rather watch a guy just throw down sometimes and perhaps that's what the Ufc's after.

I think we have missed someone, James Zicik. He's already been on the big stage b4 but apparantly he is motivated to get back to a high level and be a champ, war Zicik!
