I read a while ago that Ian was planning on fighting again in 2010, but then a while later he sadly lost a relative so has retired for good. Does anybody know how he is doing and if there is any chance of him fighting again, or at least working as a commentator/announcer?

And Gary, if you are online, any plans mate? Two great fellas who are very popular and in my humble opinion British/European MMA is missing out while you fellas are not fighting.

Thanks.

I think Ian is just coaching and doing Seminars and MC work.

If you get the chance then head to one of his seminars , they are pretty damn good. I have had the oppertunity to train with Ian on quite a few occasions and would recommend you give it a go

Bateman, I definitely will mate. I'm just battering the fitness now and going to join MMA Liverpool or one of the other places round here. Then I want to start getting to loads of seminars, even if it's just really to meet some of these guys in the flesh.

Hello mate!

Yep, still fighting, nearly got one off this month, but the offer came a bit late...

Everywhere is hit by the credit crunch too, and I don't fight for peanuts unfortunately...I don't have to fight, so when I do it has to be worth my while and the challenge there...

Both have proved their worth and are part of the UK mma foundations. I'm sure a lot of the up & coming fighters can truly benefit from learning from both of these fighters.
I know both guys as friends and can honestly say they have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to competition.
People see Ian as a puncher/brawler but if you ever get to train with him that opinion would quickly change. He has a wealth of knowledge from stand up to the ground, very technical indeed. He has trained extensively in the US with the best around. Trust me, he'll improve your game.
Gary has the winning attitude. He's fought in many UK teams in a host of different styles. Winning is a habit and Gary can show you how to acheive this. He is without doubt one of the most inspirational athletes I've had the pleasure of knowing.
