....help me out with resizing a picture??

I know its probably not the most complicated of things and it might seem like a dumbass question to those who know how to do it, but Im trying to find an avatar and all of the pictures are too big "remote file is too large" is what Im getting.

Wondered if anybody knew how i could shrink the pictures down to avatar size so i could use them??

Or wether i would have to get some software, because Im using a notebook and it doesn't hold too much, i would have to go on the desktop to do it??

Any help would be appreciated fellas, thanks.

Are you trying to resize a image to a smaller size or trying to change the file size? if u are trying to do both and u have Adobe Fireworks on your pc, you can open the file in there and then click save, it asks you if you want it max file size or you can take the smaller file size. This will change the picture from a very high resolution to a minimal without any distortion. If your trying to make the picture just smaller but keeping the file size, open it and resize it, then click the resample button. Best software to use, photoshop works like this but abit more complicated. Download a trial of adobe website.

yeah you'll need to use a photo editing software.. photoshop is easy, you select the pixel size and even the file size before you start.. then just drop you picture into the blank workspace and drag it to fit ..
