Amir Khan will make his American debut on May 15th with promoters Golden Boy finally set to announce his WBA light-welterweight title defence against Paulie Malignaggi. Khan, Malignaggi and Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya will hold a press conference in London on Friday to officially announce the fight at New York's Madison Square Garden. The showdown was agreed a month ago but only confirmed officially yesterday. Golden Boy said: 'The fight marks Khan's United States debut which will take place in the backyard of New York's Malignaggi.

I was kinda pissed off when he "beat" Barrera but you cant blame him so much. He is only fighting who they are putting in front of him.

But at this moment there are alot of questions marks. If he answers them over the next couple years you will have to give him credit. He is at a decent weight divison with alot of good fights for him.

khan is a quality boxer, he hasn't beaten anyone of note you say, well he's only 22/23 and has beaten much tougher competition then most boxers do when they're that age. you're the sort of idiots who just because he's been in the spotlight since he was 17 believe he should be fighting the very best straight away, it doesn't happen like that in boxing. i have a mate who turned pro 2 years ago and is 13-0, his last fight was against a guy 3-2-34.

he has some of the fastest hands in boxing, very skillful and is gonna go along way. fighting paulie is a step up, he is no easy fight for anyone. may have no power but he's skilled and can take a punch.

Spot on there to be honest!
I've not really been a Khan fan to be honest, but I do believe he has a lot of potential due to his amazing hand speed. Working with Freddy Roach is going to bring out the best in him and help him gain a lot of power in those punches.. maybe Freddy can bring out the Killer Instinct in Khan and make him a really good Boxer.
