I gotta start doing this ASAP. May work it for high reps for now at the end of my olympic lifting session.

tried them this morning, light weight only till i can figure out where to put my feet (close to the butt, out a bit further etc) but found it a bit awkward with a full size olympic bar so i used a tricep bar instead. weights closer to the body so im thinking you could probably use more weight once you get used to the movement. felt good though, lower back and top of the glutes.

buns of steel for the summer

These are a great exercise. If you want more information on them, some theory behind and some more variations check out this article by the guy who made those vids:

ive done them twice now. light weight, high reps both times.

after the first time i had two days off training due to severe muscle ache in my arse and lower back. tried them again yesterday, same light weight weight and low reps but with a bit less range of motion and its great. normal muscle ache today and seems ok so far. gonna do them again and up the weight a bit see how they go.

our gym looks like a exercise room for the porn industry. theres a lot of jujitsu boys there that seen me do them and theve all started useing them now. :D

Definitely agree with this they are great exercises and very important to include in your your program as most people have weak glutes and tight hip flexors. I always include some variations in the S&C programs for fighters I work with. Using a stability ball to do the hip thrusts, glute bridges and leg curls is a favourite option of mine starting with two legs but then progressing to single leg for a further challenge.:)
