Am I alone in disliking 'Sticky threads' ? surely if a thread is worthy such as 'YLYL' it will be near the top by merit (i.e posts) and will not need artificial pinning at the top ? It does my head in when you come on here and live threads don't start until half way down the page.
Mods, this is important so please can you make this a sticky thread

I think the forum rules is the only one there that needs to be a sticky. Maybe the revamp one as well until that's done.
Don't have a problem with YLYL being a sticky but as you say, it is likely to be at the top of the page most days anyway so it's probably not needed. Who knows.
The sub forum rules thread is clogging up the board, but other than that it's alright.

I'm just a tad worried about Gary and his obsession with breast milk.
Why did the big boobies need to be lactating? Are you after more corn flakes mate?

Why hello there my valiant friends.
The ones I put up I was asked to put up. In fact, I started a poll for the last one I did after being asked by several posters to do it.
However, if there's any sticky threads people want to have unstuck, make it known and we'll do what we can in robust, prompt and valiant fashion.
:)

i actually agree and try to keep stickies at a minimum.
forum rules has to be there obviously.
tony kent thread was there so we could keep track of him but i think that threads dead and i was going to take it down over the weekend (then someone posted in it for the first time in a month, lol).
YLYL should be a sticky because it's epic and deserves pride of place. it had actually slumped to the 2nd page and i resurrected it and stickied it so not all great threads will remain at the top, not with the huge number of posts and new threads we get every day it's easy for popular threads to slip onto page 2 or even 3 if they aren't used for just 1 day.
does the ask frakes thread need to be stickied?

it slipped down a few pages quite a few times so it could get lost to history if it wasn't stickied. we get a dozen+ new threads each day so it pushes threads down quite quickly.
im taking the tony kent thread down now.
You should just click 'new posts' when you come on, problem solved :)

i think stickes are required as it helps cut down the search function which people do not use.
fantastic, stickies ftw !
