I've been looking into taking a cruise to Brazil and have been offered one that leaves on Sept 20, getting there 18 days later. The only problem is that getting back means staying 5 months untill another cruise heads for England(I hate flying). Will you still be there? How long are you staying for?. Also what sort of money will I need per week? (Not living like a poor student)

I didn't know valium could make you immune to plane crashes..

What if a plane crashes into the ship?
That my friend, would be ironic.

Flight is safer than sea travel when looking at distance travelled and time of journey. Only thing sea wins is per number of journies...

Although, I would imagine sea accidents are mainly around Sri Lanka/India/Bangladesh... and most air accidents are in East Asia and Africa iirc.

Lol! No but you would be asleep for it, so you wouldn't be as scared if you were KO'd for the journey.

RobT.. you know far too many facts...
Actually for around £1300(there and back) I get a total of 36 days of all inclusive.. visit a lot of other places and arrive in Rio all suntanned and refreshed... that's around £36 a day/night for a pretty decent holiday in itsself. If I could do the cruise and stay in brazil fo 2 months it would be perfect. I guess I'll have to spend the extra 3/4 months training and partying.. DAMM!! (Actually, I'm too old to party... and the trainings a struggle.. I may just go to the beach)

Never understood the problem with flying. Really is the safest way to travel although I do accept that if it does go wrong it's not going to be pretty !! I travel all over Asia with my job so I don't have a choice.
I would still rather be in a plane than a car. Even in my own family, my mom spent 4 weeks in intensive care after being hit by a drunk driver and my uncle died when his car was hit by a lorry. Planes don't tend to crash into each other in the air.

Bob, I'm back in England on March 23rd but I am going back to Rio asap, only problem is money. It's not cheap here buddy, at least not for some things and the prices are nothing like Thailand. It's going to cost you almost as much as living in London. I just need customers (if anyone needs a website built or any web design/programming/seo let me know ;) ) then I will be back in Rio before you come!

Anyone seen Point Break? Just rob 4 banks each year and go on holiday wherever you like. If you're efficient, you could do all 4 banks in one day!
Work is just not cool.
BTW- man up Bob. Get the ticket and just fly there. The sooner you do that, the sooner you can start your sex holiday.

Sorry, meant May 22nd. Recife has open sewers and as David5 says, you can't swim 'cause there's sharks. And the beach is shit anyway.

I also hate flying but the only thing that could be worse is being stuck on a boat for a month.

Tribulus- How could you hate flying. The acceleration on the runway, seeing the world from above. A holiday isn't a holiday unless you've gone on a plane.

Just an irrational fear of crashing really, not bad enough to keep me from going places, I just don't enjoy it.

Xanax is KING. I pop Xanax on long haul flights.
The journey to and from is almost as exciting as being there training. It's the ultimate build up and come down.
