looks like they missed the point to me. it's an mma game. you should know the basics like guard etc - the tutorial in the last game was fine and this sounds the same so no prob imo.

and their other complaint is that there aren't enough modes - what do they expect from a fighting game...it's all about 'virtually' smashin your mates head into the mat as hard and often as possible! street fighter, mortal combat & soul caliber are no different.

think it was aa bit of a harsh review, but us guys (with some mma knowledge) wont be hampered by the controls etc. can't wait.

I rarely pay much attention to IGNs ratings ..... Heavy Rain was a big let down and they scored that high.

I thought it was decent review. Their audience is the casual gaming public, not MMA trained internet addicts desperate for a decent UFC so much they are willing to overlook design and presentation flaws

The game is just too similar to the last (judging by the demo) so fuck it I'm not bothering with it, it still feels too stiff in the stand up which is absolutely major for me and the online will just consist of either dominating know nothings or a boring stand off when two people know what they are doing just like the last, shite.

Yeah I mean the last one is good but its not very pacey. This one is pretty much the same. I mean at least have the option to play with finishing signiture moves such as flying heel hook neck cranks or scissor take downs to heel hooks. And turn up the pace..... Its cool, but its not awesome. EA MMA will at least have soccer kicks, rings and stuff like that.

I think they should have allowed for more unorthodox attacks, all the fighters are capable and then its dfown to the users mentality wether they risk it or not

Im really impressed with the game. Think its surpassed the original & got alot of new stuff to do.

Gotta think that "Finish Him" type moments would be met with as harsh a critisism as praise. Would be good option during a grey screen moment though.

On the whole, the stand up is quicker & there is more life to the game via different modes.

I like it.
