There is no such thing as a 'regular heartbeat'.
Don't worry, I bet you're as healthy as they come.

I was under the impression that heart murmurs can kill you. Isn't that what killed the borough player a few years ago

I wouldn't worry about it. I get those ever so occassionally too -perhaps brought on by something I've eaten due to the irregularity in them. I know of tons of people who get that. Like someone said above - it's normal to experience such things.
Saying that (and because I'm not doctor or expert) - always best to get a professionals opinion on it. My sister had REALLY bad pulpatations up until about 6 months ago, to the point where she needed an ambulance each time they came on. Even then, they said at her age she wouldn't die from it, but it could have affected her at an older age.
She took the operation option 6 months back, and the procedure is amazing. You stay awake for it, under drugs obviously, and they use the same method they use to put stents into valves (using an artery from the inner thigh) - it's all really easy these days.
You'll be fine dude from the initial sounds of what you're having.

as much cocaine as you can afford and a greasy burger each day should sort you out, dude.
*sorry to hear this - hope it's good news at the doc's.

Dunno what killed the boro player, but we all have heart murmurs and irregular heartbeats it's just that most of us go through life without having them diagnosed, so I suspect there was more to his case than that.

i get palpitations sometimes. my heart is healthy tho. Its quite an uncomfortable sensation. its something to do with the electrical firing of the atrioventricular or sinoarterial nodes which trigger the contraction of the heart. Its to do with how those signals travel or when theyre triggered, but doesnt mean you have a heart problem sometimes jus means you get an uncomfortable sensation like ur heart is beating hard or fast. I wouldnt worry but get exercise ECG to put ur mind at rest. avoid overtraining as well tht can raise ur resting heart rate by about 10 beats a min sometimes and if u get palpitations or whtever might aggrivate it.

Dude, go see a doctor. My cousin dropped dead playing footy when he was sixteen from an undiagnosed congenital heart defect.
He was a nice kid and it completely fucked his family up.

I have the same condition man. Docs say it's pretty normal. Don't stress or panic about it as adrenaline agitates your heart and the condition. Just try to chill out and live sensibly. then you wont really notice i at all. Still get it checked out though as if it's related to a couple of other things it could be a little problematic.

Could be first degree heart block, its an irregular heart beat found in many sports people where in effect the heart shuts down when not needed and the big whoosh you get is the first returning beat.
When I was a student I needed money and went to one of these research establishments to sell my body and let them test plasma expanders on me when they came round in the morning they had difficulty in finding my heart beat and thought their machine was bust but callede in the consultant who diagnosed it as first degree heart block and so I was unsuitable for the experiments as they required a steady heart beat to monitor. Of course I didn't get any money either

I have a atrial fibrillation which I take medication for. Before I was diagnosed I would have a lot of pain across my chest and shoulders, and I could only manage shallow breaths. I also used to get really light headed and my heart would pound like a mofo. If I get a bought these days there is no pain, but I get light headed and out of breath easy - I feel a bit like a space cadet. However, since going vegetarian over two months ago I haven't had a bought since, so hopefully that keeps up.
