Just a quick post about another quality interview over at KombatClinic.com, last week I managed to find time to catch up with newly crowned World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion and BJJ black belt Hillary Williams.

2010 has not been a bad year for US Brazilian Jiu Jitsu sensation Hillary Williams.
On 11th April 2010 she won gold in her weight category and bronze in the Absolute division at the 2010 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Pan-Am Championships and then, in the same month scooped a bronze at the inaugural women’s event at the Abu Dhabi Pro.
Earlier this month she scooped her biggest win to date by becoming only the second US female Brazilian Ju Jitsu World Champion [after Emily Kwok in 2007] at the 2010 Mundials in Long Beach, California by beating some of the best Jiu Jitsu athletes in the Brown & Black belt division. After such a great start to the year there is not much else that a Jiu Jitsu athlete could wish for but upon her return from the Mundials, and to round off a fabulous start to the first half of the year, Hillary was awarded her black belt by her coaches Matt Hamilton and Roli Delgado, not bad considering she only stated Jiu Jitsu back in 2007.
After being introduced to the sport through a friend Hillary’s path to the upper echelons of the sports has been very quick. An avid and athletic competitor, Hillary has achieved all of this whilst juggling her fantastic Jiu Jitsu career with studying for a degree in Biology – while most other athletes have the luxury of being able to train full-time.
KombatClinic.com managed to catch up with Hillary as she made her way across the United States for yet another training session and managed to get her views on what it feels like to achieve the dreams that she has trained so hard for since the moment she first set foot onto the mats as a white belt as well as a whole host of other topics.
