My mate has a PS3 and I think I'm gonna buy the game and borrow his console to play it on that. The MGS series is one of the best in gaming history (after Final Fantasy) and I can't wait to see how it ends!

I played about 10 hours of MGS4 at my brother-in-law's house last year (I don't have a PS3 for obvious reasons - Xbox is better). All it made me want to do was play MGS1 again, so I dusted off my PS1 and did. Not that interested in Rising either to be honest.

PS3 is miles better than Xbox imo ..... started off overpriced and with crap games but now its an awesome piece of kit.

It's always been a better machine than the Xbox, no doubt about that, but it's still overpriced and still undersupported by Sony.

It's really all about personal preference to be honest though, and I prefer the Xbox's online service, it's exclusives compared to the PS3s and it's controller.

Generally I'm an idiot for buying games consoles and will buy them just to get one game (was an avid PS fanboy until I bought an orignal Xbox for Halo a few years back and have been a committed Xbox fanboy since then), and whilst I've stood in GAME a few times over the last couple of years and stared at the PS3 bundles I've never once felt the real urge to buy (and I have a Wii FFS!).

Here's a good way to look at the subjective nature of the Xbox vs. PS3 debate. If you put aside online capability, Blueray capability, reliability, controller design, etc. it basically comes down tothe fact that both are there 'exclusive' games and which you want more.

If I had sat down at the start of 2010 and had to choose to buy either an Xbox 360 or a PS3 I could have made a list of the top 8 exclusive games for the year and made my decision of which to buy as a result.

Here's one I prepared earlier:

Xbox 360 2010 Exclusives

1, Mass Effect 2 – Would buy
2, Halo Reach – Might Buy
3, Fable 3 – Would buy
4, Alan Wake – Might buy
5, Splinter Cell: Conviction – Might buy
6, Crackdown 2 – Would buy
7, Metro 2033 – Wouldn’t buy
8, Gears of War 3 – Would buy

Xbox 360 - Would = 4, Might = 3, Wouldn’t = 1

PS3 2010 Exclusives

1, The Last Guardian – Might buy
2, God of War 3 – Would buy
3, Heavy Rain – Wouldn’t buy
4, Gran Turismo 5 – Wouldn’t buy
5, Demon’s Souls – Would buy
6, Agent – Might buy
7, MAG – Wouldn’t buy
8, Final Fantasy XIV (online) – Wouldn’t buy

PS3 - Would = 2, Might = 2, Wouldn’t = 4

The choice for me is obviously an Xbox, but you might have an entirely different taste in games, in which case the pS3 is the way to go.

See, this is my point; the only games on that PS3 list that I would have any interest in would be Uncharted (probably the game that will eventually make me buy a PS3) and Metal Gear (just to see how the story ends), the rest don't interest me at all. I'd rather have the 4 listed Xbox games than the 8 listed PS3 games.

But again, ths just confirms that the real difference between the two is the games and personal taste.

Played through MGS1 on Ps1 the other day and VR missions too. Absolute quality games. Amazing direction and gameplay.

I have yet to try them as i sold my PSP and brought a Wii (Monster Hunter Tri is awesome) But i sold it to my sister for her Son which i babysit alot so i might accidently download it and play when i find my spare memory card. I cannot find my DS. i've spent 200+ hours on Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Suikoden is quite good, world ends with you was quite fun, Illuminous Arc 2 i found out-standing, Knights in the nightmare is probaly most complex RPG iv ever played. PSP RPG's which iv played are Jeane of Arc is a intresting RPG which you should try. For short time i had PSP i mainly played Final Fantasy 7, Tactics, Patapon 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3 so never got round to many RPG's.
