Have a friend who is an amputee so doesn't have a forearm on his right arm (from elbow down downwards) who wants to do some weight training/strength training. So I've said I'll help him out with some exercises but its actually proving a tougher task than I thought as I don't want to risk causing imbalances between the opposing sides of the body.

So far I've thought of squats with a dumbbell, lunges, standing rotations, dumbbell cleans, snatches, swings maybe thrusters.
Also thought of using the upper part of his arm to do fly's with a cable machine by attaching the ankle strap to it

So has anybody had any experience with training with a similar individual or can anybody help me out with a couple of exercises. This is a chance to think outside of the box.

Thanks chris

Sorry just realized the term "amputeed arm" and don't think that's the correct term to use. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Does his arm end at the elbow or is it below the elbow dude?

I'm pretty sure it ends at the elbow

Search on Youtube for amputee (or one arm) bench press vids. There are quite a few.

Here's one:

And another vid of a guy doing a deadlift with a prosthesis:

I suppose that you could still squat? Perhaps in a machine or using a support/spotter? With a bench, deadlift and squt you've got the basis of a strong routine. Best of luck.

I've known of two people who used slings and harnesses for their arm but both had a little bit of forearm to hook the harness
