that has led people to believe that both the Nogueiras are out but the quote was stating that both the 'Nogueria pulling out' article and the 'CroCop stepping in' articles were first reported by FO.

Hey, I agree about his past, but lets look at the fights he has had since then, there are so many opportunities that a good submission guy like Frank Mir would have capitalised on. The Cro-Cop of old is not the Cro-Cop of today and this fight is a totally different prospect.

His sprawl used to be good as well, but Mir isn't a lunging double-leg kind of takedown artist, I just don't see how this fight goes in his favour. He hates being harried around the cage, he thrives on distance, take it away and what does he have now? CroCop has a tendency to block the clinch with his forearm across the face whilst backing his hips out. I see this to be where Mir will take him down, from a deep body clinch.

If Mir comes in big for this fight I don't see crocop having a way off the bottom. CroCop hasn't fought a submission guy of Mir's size who didn't want to stand with him.

Barnett fits the bill of being a very good sub guy and he has weight, not dissing on him, but he also fought crocop without a specific sub gameplan, he was more than content to fight crocop at his own game.

I can't lay claim to Mir's plans but I think, and that's what this thread is all about, opinion, that he will succumb to Mir via Sub. Realistically, CroCop should cut to 205 after this bout, win or lose, he has come in quite soft at 235 before, which isn't beyond the means to make 205lbs

I dont think Mir has the wrestling technique or explosive ability to drag Cro Cop to the mat, so I think he should pull guard. Cro Cop is going to be kicking the shit out of Mirs legs so he better try and get it to the ground quickly.
