I'd like to see UK fighters evenly matched and not fed to the wovles. This kind of fantasy matchmaking does them no favors at all.
Uk based fighters are 0-7 against North American based and Brazilian opposition since Cage Rage 10, but yet people still want to see more foreign opposition come over and destroy UK fighters and records
People on here say that the uK team won't beat the French team, if that's so, what's the point of setting them up fights with Pride/UFC guys who will beat them easily
Sure there might be 1 or 2 expections, but look how our top names especaally Mark Weir have taken a beating over the past few months.

"People on here say that the uK team won't beat the French team,"
maybe , but is it the real stronger uk team ? i don' think so
my team :
leigh remedios/robbie oliver
dave elliot /dave butlin
jenkins/daley
murray
freeman
junior/tengiz
did the actualy french team could beat 'hem ? NO!
Nice Fantasy team
Remedios - i beileve unavailable
Oilivier - to the best of my knowledge injured
Dave Elliot fights agaisnt japanese oppoisition early in june
Dave Butlin - I beileve is not currently active/fighting
Jenkins - fights 3 days before on US TV
Daley - fights muay thai on the 21st
Murray - Fights on Cage Rage on July 2nd ( i would say is a "cage Rage fighter"
Freeman - Injured
Tengiz - fought and lost 3 weeks ago
Junior is on the card
Barrington is the main event as he's a huge name in Coventry and has got us to sell tickets and its good for a retirement bout
The uk team is inexperienced but have a point to prove and look ok to me.

I totaly agreed, but i dint make any "fantasy" match up. Just sujested a few name wich i think will sute some uk fighters. Like i ve seen somewere that "Mayem" may fight Paul, well i think it s a bad idee, i would rather see him fight Lytle. But that s just my opinion.
I agreed that some fighters got push too quick, but i also disagree wene some peoples said that Sol Vs Stout was miss match, it could have gone either way in my view. It s about piking the right fighter. Like i said, Spratt Vs Daley can go either way too. Pete aint no better kickboxer than profesor X. Beign a Pride or UFC Vet dont mean shit, it s about picking the right fighter. I did a great fight agains Carter but shit fight agains UK guys. :toothless
Just say Jess :baby dont worry, i wont eat you We are not talking about the same fighters here ARE WE ??.
Fighting is about style and a bit of luck.Diabate may have lost agains babalu, but i still think he will give a hard fight to chuk. Mark for example is waaaaay better that he was wene in faught in the UFC, but i dont think he faught the right fighters to make him shine. He may have Lost at Cage Rage but i still think he will do well agains someone like chonan at Bushido for example.
BUT THEN AGAIN YOU MAY BE RIGHT AND I MAY TALK A LOT OF SHITE
.
Jess,
Beileve it or not my post wasn't an attack on you, it was more an overvie wof what people have been saying ove rthe last few months. Cage Rage have spoiled UK fans with some huge huge names, but they have buried UK fighters. Yet UK fans want to see more UK fighters fed to foreign guys topad their record. I'm not sure why UK fans want to see that.
Bring Mohamed Khacha and David Baron into the mix while you're at it, why not Sauli Heilimo too. The UK fighters need to get through European opposition before they go fighting UFC and Pride Fighters.

Which is basically what i beileve too.
But maybe Uk fighters don't want that and need a reality check themsleves
(which is what i was sorta hinting at too)

The welterweight division is strong and getting stronger
they can compete with the best in the world.
Didn't we say that about the middleweights?

I think Lytle, Spratt, Strasser and to a lesser extent Newton are not such a huge leap in ability when compared with the best WWs competing here in the UK, they are definately beatable. Karo Parisyan is very good, I think he is top tier along with the likes of Diaz, St. Pierre, Trigg and Hughes.
I think the main advantage the UFC's best WWs have is a background or some form of exposure to wrestling, something 99% of fighters in the UK would be lacking. It's this that I believe sets them apart, if they are ever in trouble striking or ground grappling they always have their wrestling to fall back on.
No disrespect to anyone competing in the UK intended.

I think neil has just hit the nail on the head with regards to the wrestling.

thanks jess
*cancels life insurance policy* :D
Thanks Jess and I'm doing my best to get more fights for Khacha and others but there have complications like fighters refusing fights and Injuries. Plus it's so much harder to get good fights for French fighters since they can't fight pro' in France and UK promoters are always going to choose the UK fighter over the French (and I don't see a problem with that)
Yup, Kassim Annan is an amazing fighter, I agree with you. I brought him over to XFC and he beat a fighter that was 20Kg heavier than him in about 2 minutes.
I agree that taking on french or scandinavian fighters might not get you closer to the UFC or Pride but my point is that some people shouldn't be aiming for these shows straight away. Each fight against a good fighter is more experience and is about learning, I've always thought that Europeans should be fighting each other more and not shooting straight for the top of the heap and I've never been shy about saying it.
I know that the guy I mentioned were mostly french, but there's also others like Mario Stapel and Daniel Weichel for example who'd give any UK Welterweight a run for their money.
DROC
Thanks
Daniel Weichel, then Mario Stapel then Pete Spratt.
Weichel has gotten some press in the US because of his long winning streak and competing in EVT.
If you beat him, Mario Stapel because he recently won in KOTC against John Cronk
If you win these 2 fight and they're well publicised people would be talking about you and you would then be in a position to fight the likes of Pete Spratt and get a shot in the UFC. You would also have more experience fighting top level opposition and would be in a better position to beat Spratt IMO
Beating a UFC veteran doesn't neccesarily get you a shot in the UFC (I know you know this but sometimes it has to be said) Look at Cyrille Diabaté, Emmanuel Fernandez or Gregory Bouchelaghem, they've all beaten English UFC veterans and none have been approached by the UFC. Best thing to do, IMO, is build up a good winning streak in Europe then take on former UFC and Pride veterans like Lee Murray did.

I think the UFC are still pro-US or at least pro english speakers.
If tehre is a market for a fighter they would go for it...but i'm not convinced
