training energy systems
due to the demand of MMA ( need to be explosive, aerobic and anerobic fit ) do you feel it is more bennificial to break down your energy systems training into seperate mesocycles, eg ( 4 weeks cp, 4 weeks anerobic) ect... or train them together in the same cycle but increase the duration of the cycle??....(work all energy systems together but over a 6-8 week period??
Hi mate, good questions, for me you need to know which are you strengths and weaknesses as an athlete then decide which you need to stress the most in your training. I like to go back to training strength and power post fight, as well as general aerobic work through technical training and drilling etc, then increase the duration of these efforts closer to fight time.
