Turf Toe :-(
Anybody any experience of this?
I've got it. :( Not much help from GP either (he had to look it up on Wikipedia).
Found a couple of usful ways of strapping it online and thinking of trying KT Tape after watching an instuctional.
Got a fight camp starting so would rather not take time off if possible, but it may come to that.
Hi Craig - taping can be good for training, but make sure you take it off in between training sessions to allow the toe to get it's normal movement back and prevent it from stiffening up.
Mobilising the joint can also help - try to gently move the toe around to regain as much movement as possible. As it improves, you can throw in some strengthening exercises and balance work. If you know a good sports physio / osteopath, a one off session may help to get you pointed in the right direction.
What kind of strengthening excercises specifically do you mean? I've seen some online where the object is to strenthen the tendon is the opposite motion to the injury? Is that correct?
