I hope the boys ok, but the various "eye witness" accounts sound dubious at best. How do you "uppercutted" someone in the throat from behind?

like semtex said. he threw a punch. not saying its right, but its not like he threw 3 punches into a double let and carries on pounding the lad. im pretty sure chris wont be proud of himself. and am sure hes probrably brickin himeself with the police inolved aswell. so let them deal with it.
is semtex ,christopher and any other people involved friends of yours because 2 statements u made seem to encourage violence outside the cage arena and you admit you are no angel yourself as u said,in previous post.and a bit of name dropping involved to make u the good guy
its a bit like a perfect fight for u 3 punches ,double let and a pounding ,glad its not you on the recieving end
im not encouraging it at all. im taking it you know this kid that got punched. if you read the comments proparly instead of cherry picking bits out of it. i mentioned i dont think its right.
have you ever punched anyone before? most people have. but they dont do it thinking about ending someones life, it sounds like an accident. and hes gna have to deal with the result of it with the police.
Just to clarify Im not condoning this in any way, even if the poor guy was a Pro Level Boxer or whatever noone should should get hurt like that in a game of football. Im Just making the point that the authorities are dealing with it so until it goes through due process noone can call for Bans etc, and secondly by listening to various accounts they all have in common it was a single blow, Im just saying I dont think Chris would have had to call upon his years of experience or experience to execute it if that makes sense?!?
Chris was wrong, thats the bottom line and the guy and his family have suffered unquestionably, but its clear a few guys on here know this lad personally so it may be hard to be truly imparitial and give unbiased views.
I wasnt there but according to both sides of the story, regardless of the reason for the punch it sounds like a freak accident and Im confident Chris didnt intend for it to happen.
And as for condoning violence outside, yes it should be avoided if possible but if push comes to shove any man trained or not has the right to defend himself if he fears for his safety. Throwing a single punch is not deemed excessive force, thats the long and short of it.
Thats a fair point, on the same token though that needs to be clear before people can put pressure on promoters for bans. The point im trying to put across is if chris threw the same punch 100 times, 99 times it wouldnt have the same consequences or as severe or serious a reaction. Thats not to make light of it, its a serious matter, but the picture being painted that he is using years of training to lay a beating on someone is inaccurate.
Apologies if I sounded a bit heartless towards the injured lad. Hope he recovers okay.
To explain my point further though...
The lad who threw the punch should be judged in a court of law by people who are qualified to judge him and - if found guilty - then you can feel free to call him all the cunts under the sun (in fact, you could probably feel free to call him that already, since this is a pretty liberal forum at times), but let's keep a sensible disconnect from the sport as a whole.
He categorically did not run at the victim with his fist out screaming "In the name of MMA!".
He's not a chosen representative of the sport's public image, so let's not treat his actions as typical.
