How does he deserve it? He lost to Condit.
Hendricks has smashed every top contender worthy of a title fight.
We all know who really won and lost that fight.

The UFC has proven time again that if a fight is more profitable they'll go that route & as its a business I don't blame them. Yeah Hendricks has looked good recently but he'll have to step aside, similar to how Chuck did so Tito could have his big money fight with Ken Shamrock.
It seems now that the way to get a UFC title shot is to lose. Sonnen, Edgar, and now Diaz. It's ridiculous. the UFC wants to be seen as a legit sport and they are giving titles shots to guys coming off losses.
And Diaz didn't win the Condit fight.
You would make a better case for Edgar. I thought Edgar won both fights with Henderson. But I still think he needs to win a fight before he gets a title shot.
I don't understand how it's a bigger fight, I don't see Diaz as a threat to GSP, GSP will grapple fuck him, it doesn't matter if it was scheduled, he lost to Condit and doesn't deserve it, past accomplishments shouldn't come in to it or Wanderlei and other pride heads would have walked straight into more title fights.Quote:

It's pretty simple really: GSP vs Diaz will far outsell GSP vs Hendricks. Who "deserves" it more is purely academic.
I think the UFC are also using the "GSP asked for the fight and he's never asked for anything before as champion" justification, but it's just an excuse really as it sounds better than "it's all about the $$'s".
