I think BJJ should be taught with 20% (minimum) of the class on take downs, tactical guard pulling is fine for comps, but takedowns are essential for a well rounded game that can be adapted to self...

In my normal class (90 mins), I teach at least 15 mins on take downs each class, usually drilling entries and a couple of rounds of sparring just takedowns.
