I totally agree and being a southpaw myself I can definately vouch for that..........
I currently take..........
1) Protein shake after training
2) Multi-Vits (one a day)
3) Cod Liver Oil
4) Acai Berry
Used to take Glucosamine but read some negative reports regarding this...

I have a few BJJ/MMA related t-shirts (Gracie Barra, Atama, Chute Boxe) but very rarely wear them out and about, the atama is probably the least BJJ orentainted in terms of image so unless you train...
I'm also a southpaw and didn't have any training issues but I did learn to fight both styles so I could switch during technique training.....any good coach can teach to both styles.
LOL , so true.........also, wear some decent knee pads from day one if you already don't, they really help.

BJJ and red raw/sore knees does sound a bit dubious to the uneducated :D
All great advice above.....get/wear knee pads from day one as it can quite tough on your knees when you first start also it will save you problems further on in your training.
