I would compete more but costs and work get in the way a lot. I try and compete at least 4 times a year.
I know people who drinka the steriod.

A general question to all. Would you consider strength attributes maximal, endurance and isometric etc, higher/more important in the list of physical requirements, cardio etc?
Kids classes! I've been running these for my instructor, hard work but very rewarding things I've learnt:
- games - tire them out with physical games

Inevitable? Not sure I got mine within 6 months of training while my, instructors dont have any at all. Still think cauli's are part of the game though!
Look guys just accept the fact you gonna get cauli's I did , I love them even if the wife does'nt. It's part of the jiu jitsu lifestyle.
Not even lanky people really, just normal sized is good enough, especially if your like me 5'6 dwarf with stubby legs and a long body!!!

Recently been thinking about the way I should progess my game when rolling:
1) Roll to tap everyone as much as possible.
2) Roll to develop certain areas I need to work on i.e...
s&c is really important when training a lot I find, not balls to wall stuff but more injury prevention, strengthing the prime movers stuff.
Proper warmup's, drilling, specific and regular sparring for all, maybe one open mat a week but that's all sparring for 20mins plus at a time.
Sometimes feel tired but hey, I love Jiu Jitsu!
Just out of interest mainly! I manage about 4-5 times a week mixing gi and nogi.
