Nice timing, I'm working in Maidenhead later in the month - better pack the Gi!
I can't comment on what it was like back then but I've trained with Scott (who's a Brown belt) off and on for the last year, he's a sound guy and a very good instructor.
Good crowd of guys who...
I thought you were taking the piss but according to wikipedia it's true (unless you've been editing that on the fly... :) )
Looks good, and the new location is handier for me (used to go to the battlefield on a Monday night earlier in the year)
Hopefully come along to the BJJ class soon to have a look
Nice change to see MMA presented in the same way as more traditionally accepted sports, hopefully the first of many
I'd be the same after 4 pints to be fair and thats without any marching powder!
It was tongue in cheek mate - a bit like having to be a good footballer before breaking out the white boots as they draw more attention to you.
Nice review, and a very smart gi - if only I had the talent to match then I'd probably order one :)
Definitely sounds like a lack of carbs, timing of meals might also be a factor - I need to eat at most 2 hours before training or I can feel faint although some people get away with longer
I'll be watching this, might need to get hold of the graphic novels as well
Anyone read World War Z? Apparently the movie is due for release in 2012, not sure how it'll translate but looking...
The only thing I don't like is when someone without a gi tries to apply gi chokes - apart from that it's a good change of pace usually
£5 per class mate
If you are going to Rutherglen the class isn't on this week as Scott's on holiday - I think it's back on from next Tuesday but maybe one of the other guys will confirm
Royce Gracie is in Rutherglen Tuesdays and Saturdays mate
I've stayed in the Marriot West India Quay before, it's only a couple of stops from the O2 on the DLR (and right next to the station)
Really nice hotel, I think it was about £120 a night
If you're recording it and the event runs late there's a chance it could stop recording before the end - I've got the same box and somewhere in the settings theres an option to record an extra bit at...
Probably just that one of the IT guys in your work has noticed your spending 4 hours per day on here and has blocked it while they type up your P45 ;)
The books worth a read as well
Just saw this under New Posts and thought it was this years seminar - was gutted for a sec as I'm on holiday then, until I realised some spambot had bumped it from 2 years ago :)
Not on your list mate but I've got a pair of Hayabusa shin pads that I've worn once - I was going to stick them on ebay but if your interested let me know
Alien Breed on the Amiga - I remember having mines hooked up to my stereo speakers, yes I was a geek
Used to love all the old Sierra games - Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry etc
Aliens v...
I haven't bought an Xbox game in ages but I'm quite looking forward to this
Not sure Chuck's the best example for starting late, his first UFC fight was at 28 but he was a pro kickboxer prior to that as well as having a background in karate and college wrestling
My Gi arrived today also, seems good quality although I've nothing to compare it to
Think I'll need to slightly shrink the top, bottoms seem fine (size A3 - I'm 5'10, about 84kg)
