cheers for a great event, had a good time there and will be looking forward to the next one... the standard was really good for this one compared with the level the event was at a mere 18 months ago before xmas. like the new venue for it as well! :-)

because we had so many of the team competing in the under 77 & 86 catorgories i entered the heavyweights.
duffy won the 77 and i won the heavyweights
not bad for a scrawny old timer

Dude, how the hell does that work - I am still confused...
I won 4 fights by submission / all leglocks and only lost to Tom Watson by decision, but I am pretty sure we didn't fight - I don't know how the pools system works? do you? lol

i think it works like this, im sure colesy will correct me if im wrong.
16 fighters. win and you go thru to next round. if you lose in the first 2 rounds you go back into a pool and get to fight off for the bronze. the 2 fighters who win every round continue thru to the final for 1st and 2nd.
i fought tom in the final. if you lost to Tom in an earlier round hen that is why we did not fight,
because every one who loses in round one or two gets the chance to fight for 3rd it usually means the winner of 3rd has had the most fights. (lucky sods)
