Unhappy Too Heavy For Weight Category - HELP!!!

I have a grappling comp in 5 weeks,

Due to a total lack of preperation by myself I am too heavy for my intended weight category of U87kg by around 1.5 Stone! No way i can lose the weight so Im in the next weight category above......where all the beasts are!!! lol

The opponents are gonna be alot taller than me, and likely to be stronger and at the top of the weight category and therefore heavier than me, rather than me who will reside in the middle of the category!

Therefore I wanna increase my strength to as high a degree as possible to possibly compensate so i dont get smashed in!!!!

Can anyone recommend any particular type of exercise/weight routines etc or just general advice.....?

    Thanks

    Matt "The Chubster"

Try complex strength training.Basically do a set of compound weight exercise, eg dead lift, squat, benchpress etc and follow immeadiately with a set of plyometric exercises.try this link

    http://www.brianmac.demon.co.uk/complex.htm

that will explain it in more detail and give examples of workouts

However, if you havn't been doing any weight training up till now it might be unwise to do it as your body wont be ready for the demand that real strength training puts on it.

holler back at me if you need to know more but the link should give you all the info about it you need.

1.5 stone is 19 pounds. 19 pounds in 5 weeks is very doable mate. Whens the weigh in? Even for a same day weigh in I could make that. I'll PM the diet I have just used to drop from 95 to 84 in 8wks if you want.
