beer kegs?

just got hold of two beer kegs for unstable lifting, anyone know how to get the guts out of the top to fill them? they have unscrewed biy thats as far as they will go. thanks in advance

iv got one and i cant figure out how to open it. i pressed down on the top and got covered in ale spunk

where did u get a keg from? did u just go to the pub and ask for one?

Theres a few ways to do it.
1) Ram a screwdriver into the top bit (ala mr smith).
Release all the air from inside then just get a hose pipe
& let it trickle in .Takes a fair while.
2) Cut the top off with an angle grinder & fill the hole
with a rubber bung.

Anton if u ask nicely most pubs will give u a keg.
They dont pay any deposit on them.

pubs wont let them go as they cost to replace. i had to relieve a country pub of them last night
