    Hi mate,

Following on from your "What would you do" thread. I've just been told by a bloke at work that he was playing football last night. There was another game on the pitch next to them which finished just before theirs. On the way to the changing rooms his team mates stop and start backing away so everyone looks in to see what's happening, assuming that a couple of players are having some handbags or something. It turns out that 5 locals who weren't playing football had turned up and were battering (and by the sounds of it I mean battering) one of the players from the other game. I asked if anyone stepped in to help and he said no. Not even this guys team mates.

So by what I understand, there were approx 4 football teams (44 guys) with one team the "victim's" mates stood around whilst one bloke got the living crap beat out of him and no one did a thing.

I wouldn't feel too bad about what you did the other night mate.

I'm no hero, as I proved that the other night; but the event with the football gig...that's madness. Why on earth would 'mates' watch and not dive in? The least you can do is try and stop it if you're too scared to take a whooping...

I appreciate your words of comfort. I still keep remembering the beating that man took... No guarantee to this, but it might have been different if my woman wasn't with me that night. Just maybe.

...... sounds like he doesnt play football with any of his mates, or all his mates have no heart, even when i was 12 year olds and 1 of my mates got jumped by 5 other bois i joined in, even knowing it was us 2 v 5 of them and i would have quite happily took a good kicking with him, but we didnt even come out that bad really. My friends are one of the most important thing in my life and if i didn't have none of them, i dont know what id do. If i see any of my good friends getting a kicking by 20 people id still run in swinging, coz atleast then it takes half of them off of him ( ok i guess it might not work out as 'half' of them but it does make sense ).

    True.

There's no friendship if there's no heart.
